Germany, SS. A Waffen-SS Death’s Head Visor Cap Insignia - Type I United Republic of The interior is fully encompassed(SS Totenkopf Mtzenabzeichen). Instituted in 1925 for wear by the SA. Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a first pattern, Danziger style, jawless Totenkopf, the reverse retaining both attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 32. 9 mm (w) x 29. 6 mm (l), weighing 3. 15 grams, retaining all of its original finish, in mint condition. Footnote: The Totenkopf as a cap insignia originated in 18th century Prussian Hussar regiments where
