This a very nice example of a WWII Iron Cross First Class 1939, with a Magnetic core, flat design, and straight pin attachment. The style of the border and pin is typical of unmarked examples made by Fritz Zimmerman of Stuttgart. The pin on the back has a very gentle contour, another trademark of Zimmermann. The medal is in very fine condition. The silver plate is retained quite well, with lots of dark patination,
