Hamburg. A Hamburg Hanseatic Cross United Republic of moderately scratched with contact marks(Hanseatenkreuz). Instituted on 10 September 1915. A Hanseatic Cross constructed of silver plated bronze and red enamels, the obverse depicts the Hamburg Coat of Arms in a central medallion, the reverse bears the inscription Fr Verdienst im Kriege 1914 (For Merit in the 1914 War), on loop for suspension from a ribbon with two red stripes on a white background, measures 40. 90 mm (w) x 44. 93 mm (h), and in near extremely fine condition.
