Hedychium 'Assam Orange' was subsequently awarded an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticulture Society. In the garden, Hedychium 'Assam Orange' makes a short (by ginger standards) 3' clump topped, starting in mid summer and again in late summer, with
