Also features a leather wrap covering on the shaft extending 8 inches down the shaft behind the axe head

This is an extremely scarce German flare pistol introduced in 1915 and utilized by the Imperial German Navy throughout World War I. The only markings on the pistol are ST & B14 122 on the butt which indicate the maker, Stantien & Becker. These flare pistols were primarily for Naval use but they saw some service on land as well. Not Available for Export. The butt of the pistol is marked "ST & B14" for Stantien &
